THE INICA AGAPE LOVE CENTER
Conceived in 2011 by I.D.I Artistic Director Nicole Inica Hamilton, The Inica Agape Love Center was created from a desire to explore conversations, practices, and creative works about radical agape love.
Powered by Inica Dance Industries, The Center is an initiative which offers health workshops, discussion seminars, resources, wellness products and retreats which seek to uplift, heal, inspire, and connect communities.
In 2012, The Center began offering the 'Building Your Optimal Health Workshop Series.' A series which provides interactive sessions for children and adults, facilitated by dance health & science practitioners. Since the first workshop led by Carolina Rotondo MPT, the series has continued its offerings with workshops that explore injury prevention, spiritual love, mindful breathing exercises, holistic teaching practices, self-care, psychological stress, body image & perfectionism, motor learning and more. Among its list of facilitators, the workshop series has included sessions facilitated by psychiatrist Bonnie E. Robson, Melanie Nesbitt (OEATA), Andrea Downie (Enhance Dance) and I.D.I Artistic Director and counsellor, Nicole Inica Hamilton.
In addition to the workshop series, since its commencement The Center has offered mentorship, and counselling services which provide individual and group support. These offerings have served independent artists, educators, administrators and companies for over a decade.
The Inica Agape Love Center has taken its work into hospitals and shelters where we provide movement sessions to patients, residents, and staff. With partnerships that have included Interval House, Sick Kids Hospital, and CAMH, The Center continues to engage in works of service across and beyond the nation of Canada.
